One Should Not Test the Depth of a River with Both Feet.

Comic strip panel featuring the Old African Proverb, One should not test the depth of a river with both feet.

The meaning of this Old African Proverb is that if you’re in the water with both feet, you risk being swept away by the currents. Or, just don’t put all your eggs in the same basket.

But, did you think there might be other dangers lurking beneath the surface? A snake? A crocodile? A shark? Piranhas? A Creature from the Black Lagoon? An evil clown fish perhaps?

You just never know.

Happy Swimming!
