A couple of Murphy’s law adages claim that idiot-proof systems cannot be made. For example, “Nothing is foolproof to a sufficiently talented fool”. Along those lines, Douglas Adams wrote in Mostly Harmless, “a common mistake that people make when trying to design something completely foolproof is to underestimate the ingenuity of fools”.
Perhaps the Evolution of an Idiot would be a good book to write, or at the least be a good topic for a college thesis. Idiots are always evolving into better and more effective idiots.
And, then when an idiot gets hold a smart phone, well, we’re talking about the ultimate idiot tool, or should that be called an idiot-phone?
Cheers ~
